Glass is an exceptional material that can be recycled ad infinitum without the slightest alteration of its physical and chemical properties.

Recycling to save natural resources has now become an obligation to future generations. The advantages of substituting natural raw materials (such as sand) with cullet are both environmental and economic.

From the recovery of waste to the manufacture of a product (End of Waste - EOW legal status), cullet can be smelted directly in the glassmaker's furnace to create new glass products.

Industries using recycled glass therefore include:

-The packaging manufacturing industry (bottles, jars, flasks, vials) for everyday consumption (wines, spirits, vegetables, sauces, perfume, pharmaceuticals,...).

-The flat glass industry: manufacture of glass for the building industry, the automobile industry or furniture.

-The insulation industry (glass wool an glass blocks).

-Other industry to a lesser extent (glass beads and glass blocks).

The manufacture of one ton of glass requires one ton of cullet. Without cullet, it takes 1.25T of raw materials to make one tonne of glass.

Glass makers will significantly increase the share of recycled glass in their production So we meet their needs, with real advantages:

-Preservation of natural resources

-Energy savings

-Limitation of greenhouse gas emissions

Glas recycling: a major asset for the circular economy!
